Transparency / Space Illusion

For my third week of blog posts, we will be discussing transparency.

How do you make something that's opaque, like a sheet of paper, seem transparent?

It's all about mixing colors properly and the boundaries you place those colors in.

As you can see in my example, the inner rectangle in between the blue and green rectangles, hints at transparency.

It is simply taking the two colors near, and mixing, and lightening, to hint at transparency.
